For this project, delivered for the Victoria Social Innovation Centre: Family Services of Greater Victoria, and the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society our goal was to create a trauma-informed space that inspired play and interaction. The result is a light, bright, joyous environment that engages children and adults alike.
The Grit: Confronting an important and challenging topic in detail to provide the most appropriate design. It’s a different experience to work with elements specific to children who have experienced trauma. This was not your typical daycare design, which made this project even more meaningful for us.
The Sparkle: Being part of such a positively impactful space and cause was an incredibly moving experience for our team. And we loved getting to add adorable murals and finishes that brought out the kid in all of us.
